Christopher W. Schinstock has been with the firm since 1996.
Mr. Schinstock’s approach to family law is one of adamant professionalism and thorough preparation. He is a seasoned litigator experienced in all areas of contested domestic relations litigation at both the trial and appellate level. As a lead attorney, he has handled numerous negotiations, mediations, and contested proceedings in the trial courts of Virginia involving the full range of family law disputes. His experience includes cases involving equitable distribution, fault grounds of divorce, spousal and child support, interstate and international child custody, grandparent custody and visitation rights, business valuation and division of retirement benefits.
Mr. Schinstock is a member of the Virginia State Bar as well as the Alexandria, Fairfax and Arlington Bar Associations. He has served as a Member of the Board of Governors for the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar as well as a Faculty Member of the Virginia State Bar Professionalism Committee. Mr. Schinstock is also a member of the Fairfax Bar Association’s Conciliation Committee and previously served as the Co-Chairman of the Family Law Section of the Alexandria Bar Association. He was selected by his peers and through independent research for inclusion in the Virginia Rising Stars Super Lawyers for both 2007 and 2008 and Ten Leaders.com (http://www.tenleaders.com) for prominent Matrimonial & Divorce attorneys under the age of 45.
Mr. Schinstock received his B.A. in History from the Virginia Military Institute in 1990. He earned his J.D. from the Washington & Lee University School of Law in 1993.
